About
Kat qualified as a veterinary nurse in 2017 from MYF college. Upon qualifying in a mixed practice she joined the wonderful Fitzpatrick Referrals team where she has developed her anaesthesia and advanced nursing skills. She qualified as a clinical coach in 2019 and became a MHFAider® mental health first aider in 2023.
She has been leading and managing teams for three years, she became a senior RVN in 2021 and clinical nurse lead in 2023. During her time as clinical nurse lead she was line managing a team of 15 RVNs and VCAs, providing support and guidance to the nursing team, co-ordinating the daily flow of cases in wards and prep and developed her leadership and mentoring skills. In 2024, Kat took on the role of head nurse.
She has a passion for working in wards and loves spending time with her patients post-operatively as she finds this most rewarding. She has a professional interest in neurological cases, canine behaviour, team leadership, and management.
